Privacy Policy

Updated September 16, 2026

Parachute Design Group Inc. (“Parachute”, “we”, “us”) operates parachutedesign.ca. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, why we collect it, who receives it, and how you can control it.

We are a Canadian company based in Toronto, Ontario. We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

This policy covers parachutedesign.ca only. It does not cover other websites we link to, or websites we build and operate on behalf of clients.

Information you give us

You can browse the entire site without giving us any personal information.

You choose to give us information when you fill in a form. Our contact form and our booking form ask for your name, email address, company, phone number, and details about your project. We use that information to reply to you, to prepare a proposal, and to keep in touch about work you have asked us about. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which helps us block automated spam submissions. reCAPTCHA is described in the third-party section below.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our hosting infrastructure and our analytics tools receive standard technical information: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page you requested, the page that referred you, and the date and time of the request.

Analytics cookies and detailed measurement only run if you allow them through our cookie banner. See the next two sections.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are required for the site to work. Others help us understand how the site is used.

When you first visit, a banner asks which categories of cookies you allow. You can accept all, reject all, or choose specific categories. Nothing in the analytics or advertising categories runs until you allow it.

You can change your choice at any time. Click Cookie Settings in the footer of any page. Your preference is remembered for one year, after which we ask again.

These are the cookies and equivalent items in use on this site:

NameCategoryDurationPurpose
__cf_bmNecessary1 hourSet by Cloudflare, which sits in front of our site. Distinguishes human visitors from automated traffic. Required for the site to remain available.
cookieyes-consentNecessary1 yearSet by CookieYes, our consent platform. Records which cookie categories you allowed, so we can honour your choice and avoid asking again on every page.
_gaAnalytics1 year 1 month 4 daysSet by Google Analytics only after you allow analytics cookies. Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can count unique visitors.
_ga_H1G4G5XCW5Analytics1 year 1 month 4 daysSet by Google Analytics only after you allow analytics cookies. Holds session state for our specific Analytics property.

We do not currently use any advertising or marketing cookies. The Advertisement category appears in our cookie banner, but nothing runs under it today.

Analytics and measurement

We use one analytics tool. It is held back until you allow analytics cookies.

Google Analytics 4. Reports how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they found us. Google processes this data in the United States. Google Analytics runs on our site through Google Tag Manager.

One thing we want to be clear about

We use Google Consent Mode. This means that even when you decline analytics cookies, a small signal is still sent to Google on each page view telling Google that you have declined. That signal includes the page address, the page title, your screen size, your browser language, and your IP address. No cookie is set, no advertising identifier is created, and Google does not use it to build an advertising profile of you.

We disclose this because it is a transmission to a third party that happens regardless of the choice you make, and we would rather tell you than let you discover it.

Third parties that receive information

These are every organization that receives information from your browser when you use this site.

  • Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, reCAPTCHA). Analytics cookies are set only with your consent. The Consent Mode signal described above is sent on every page view. reCAPTCHA runs on our contact form to block automated submissions. Processing occurs in the United States.
  • Cloudflare. Content delivery and protection against automated attacks in front of our website. Required for the site to function.
  • CookieYes. Our consent management platform. Records your cookie choice and keeps a log of it as our record that consent was given.
  • Kinsta. Hosts the website and stores form submissions.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks. We do not use it to build profiles for advertising purposes.

When we may disclose information

Beyond the service providers listed above, there are limited circumstances in which we may disclose personal information.

  • Service providers acting for us. The organizations listed above process information on our behalf, under agreements that require them to protect it and to use it only for the services they provide to us.
  • Where the law requires it. We may disclose personal information to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, warrant, court order, or other lawful request from a government authority, regulator, or law enforcement agency.
  • To establish or defend a legal claim, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Parachute, our clients, or the public.
  • In a business transaction. If Parachute is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would require the recipient to handle it under terms consistent with this policy, and we would tell you if that materially changed how your information is handled.

We will not disclose your personal information to any third party for that third party’s own marketing purposes.

Where your information is processed

Our website is hosted in Canada. Some of the service providers listed above process information outside Canada, specifically in the United States and the European Union.

When personal information is processed in another country, it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities of that country under the laws that apply there. We select service providers that offer comparable protection to what is required in Canada, but we cannot exempt them from the laws of the countries in which they operate.

How long we keep information

  • Form submissions and project enquiries: 1 year.
  • Google Analytics data: event-level data is retained for 14 months, and user-level data for 14 months, as configured in our Analytics property. Aggregated reporting is not limited by these periods.
  • Consent records: retained for the life of your consent cookie, one year, as evidence that consent was obtained.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need.
  • Withdraw consent for cookies at any time, using the Cookie Settings link in our footer.
  • Ask us to stop contacting you about an enquiry you have made.
  • Make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the end of this policy. We will respond within 30 days.

Security

We use physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to form submissions is limited to Parachute staff who need it to do their work.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we encourage you not to send sensitive personal information through a website form.

Children

This site is intended for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not direct any part of this site at them.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when what the site does changes. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised. Material changes will be noted here.
